FAQ

Can I visit your shop and pick out my flowers in person?
No. Flora is operated out of the owner’s home studio—it is not a commercial storefront. You can place your order online or by phone and receive it via curbside pickup or delivery. If you’d like to request specific flowers or need your order by a specific day/time, please fill out the special instructions box at checkout or call ahead.

Do you offer curbside pickup?
Yes. Choose the curbside pickup option at checkout and include your preferred pickup date/time in the special instructions box, or Cynthia will call you to arrange a pickup time. Flora’s street address is 1206 S. 11th St., Unit 10, Tacoma, 98405, but the building is located on Court L between S. 11th and Earnest Brazil. Look for a cedar fence with the Flora sign across from the Foot & Ankle Clinic (bright yellow sign) and Bar Rosa. Call when you arrive.

Where do you deliver and how much does it cost?
See our delivery zone for delivery locations and costs. If your location is outside the delivery zone, we may be able to accommodate if a driver is available. Please contact us to inquire.

Please remember to add delivery to your cart so you can pay at checkout.

How fast will my order be delivered?
We deliver Monday to Saturday from 9 to 4, and strive for same-day or next-day delivery. The Flora is your best bet for same-day delivery as it’s made with flowers that are in stock. We recommend placing time-sensitive orders at least two days in advance. Reach out well in advance for large weddings and events. For last-minute rush orders or special delivery requests, call before placing your order online.

How do I request a specific delivery day and time?
Timed deliveries can usually be accommodated within our delivery zone for an extra fee. You can select timed delivery when placing your order and specify your preferred date and time in the special instructions box. Your time will only be confirmed after you’ve paid the special delivery fee. For timed deliveries outside our delivery zone, call us before placing your order online.

Note: Timed deliveries cannot be accommodated on or around Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day.

Can you accommodate rush requests?
We will always try! It depends on what we have in stock and how busy we are. Call to find out!

Can I place a custom order instead of choosing a signature bouquet?
Yes! Call to describe what you’re looking for and Cynthia will help you out. Note that custom orders may take more time if your flowers aren’t currently in stock and need to be sourced.

How fast will my order for Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day arrive?
We recommend ordering several days in advance to get ahead in the queue and ensure your flowers will be delivered on or before the special day. The time of delivery depends on the delivery location and where your order is in the queue. We cannot accommodate timed deliveries during our busiest weeks of the year, and deliveries may arrive anytime during or after business hours.

If your order is placed too late to guarantee delivery on the day itself, Cynthia will call to let you know. You can then opt for a later delivery or a refund. If she runs out of the flowers she needs to make your order, she will call to offer an alternative based on what’s still available. For example, if there are no more red roses, she may offer blush. It’s your choice to accept this alternative or request a refund and order from another shop.

Please keep in mind that Flora is a small business run by a single designer, and these holidays are for florists like tax time for accountants. Patience and kindness are appreciated!

Will my signature bouquet look exactly like the photos?
Signature bouquets will align with the color palette and design style pictured, but specific flowers incorporated in these designs are subject to availability. You can order Purple Rain five times and get five different variations on that theme depending on the season. That’s what’s interesting about Flora. There’s nothing cookie-cutter about these designs.

Do you do weddings and events?
Yes. For events, elopements, and weddings, email Cynthia at flora.tacoma@gmail.com with your details and to book a consultation via Zoom.

Do you deliver to hospitals?
Yes. When you order, please note the hospital name, patient name, and room number. Please also include your phone number in case we need to reach you.

We deliver flowers to the front desks of Tacoma General Hospital and Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and to the patient’s room at St. Joseph’s Hospital per hospital rules.

Do you deliver to funeral homes?
Yes. We deliver to:
Tuell-McKee Funeral Home
Scott Funeral Home
Gaffney Funeral Home
Edwards Memorial Funeral Homes
New Tacoma Cemeteries, Funeral Home and Crematory
Tacoma Cemetery
Mountain View Funeral Home, Memorial Park, Crematory

What’s your refund policy?
We do not accept returns or offer replacements for any reason. Flowers are perishable. Please bring them in from your porch or your building’s front desk where they were delivered as soon as possible and follow the care instructions to keep them fresh.

If you placed an order and need to cancel or change it, call us right away. We will only issue a refund or allow changes if we haven’t started making it or purchased flowers for it yet.

If we need to cancel your order, we will provide a complete refund.

Do you accept cash at delivery or pickup?
No. The best way to pay is through online checkout, or you can pay by card over the phone. We don’t keep your card details on file. Pre-payment is required as all items are made to order.

Are your products environmentally sustainable?
We use 100% recycled paper for wraps and card stock. We source flowers primarily from Washington distributors, and occasionally small farms and local gardens, which reduces our carbon footprint. We also use compostable Oshun Pouches, an alternative to toxic floral foam which pollutes our waterways.
